Mic-O-Say Dancing
Hey! What's going on guys? Painted Bobcat here again, and today I'm gonna teach you about geometry. Yayyyyyyyyy! No not really, what I'm really gonna share with you guys is some of my Mic-O-Say dancing experiences. Every couple of weeks I go down to Camp Geiger to do my dance practices, some times the adults announce that there is going to be a public dance coming up soon. If I go to a certain number of public dances the I can get a dance coupe, which is just a little symbol of achievement that I can were on my lanyard. I have already earned my first coupe which is the yellow coupe, and I'm working on earning my second dance coupe which is red and many more after that, it'll take me a while but I'm up to the challenge. One dance that every Brave must learn is the Warrior dance, it contains four simple steps, the slide step, the four-beat step, the canoe step, and the heel-toe step, all in that exact order. If you go to the Mic-O-Say Website you will be able to find a list of all the dances that are coming up, check it regularly because the website is usually updated, so there may be a new dance added to the list, but you all should come to see them, they're awesome to watch. My favorite dances out of all the other dances is the Big-Small, Little-Small, it is absolutely hilarious, I once got to play the part of Little-Small, so I got to act silly, oh yeah, I was supposed to on purposely make fun of Big-Small behind his back, I know, funny right? The costumes you see at these dances though are absolutely outrageously amazing, colorful, flashy, full of flare, it's just so cool, and if you see a Brave with a red bobcat design on his headband, that's me! Until next time, bye! To learn more about the tribe of Mic-O-Say, go to www.micosay.org/

About My Costume
Yo, yo, yo! What do ya know? It's Painted Bobcat again, and I'm back with some more Mic-O-Say experiences for you crazy people! It's time I talked about my costume a little bit because I think I have a constructed a pretty neat costume, and I want to talk about it for a while. So let's get right into it, as I explained in my first post, I need to construct a complete costume in order to advance from Brave to Warrior, so I'm gonna give a list of what I need to be able to count my costume as complete, (for now). Anklets/Apache leggings, knee bells, breech clothe, arm bustles, back bustle, choker, face paint, solid-colored gym shorts, moccasins (no other type of shoe), and a rattle. I have worked hard on my costume, and I must say, I'm kinda proud of it,
but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna add on to it in the future, 'cause I
am. I think the best piece of the costume is my headband, now the reason I say this is because it has my favorite color coordination, (red, black, white) with a bobcat design in the center to match my tribal name, "Painted Bobcat." The design on my headband is made of small beads which took a long time to put together on a special bead loom. My rattle is made of a horn filled with small beads attached to a rod that has a string with a few beads on it for decoration. My arm and back bustles are red spike feathers with black fluff feathers on the tips attached to a base with small, circular mirrors in the middle for my arm bustles strapped to my biceps. My back bustles are red spike feathers with white fluff feathers around the base with a nice, circular rosette in the middle
strapped to my lower back. My breech clothe is red and goes down to
below my knees, I have red anklets with frayed ends strapped to my
ankles, I have one feather sticking up at the back of my headband. You
my not know this, but I originally had bells attached to a strip of
leather strapped around my biceps below my arm bustles, though they were
hidden most of the time, but they broke, so I'm gonna have to do
something about that. You all should know where my knee bells go, on my
fingers, of course! No, not really. :-) They went just above my knees
around my lower thigh, so when I walk, you should be able to hear them
jingle. Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...:-) My face
paint is kind of a bobcats whiskers on my cheeks with blood coming out
of my mouth, like I just killed my breakfast for the day, and of course, I have to where my claw around my neck. A lot of
Mic-O-Say tribesmen like to do there own thing and they sometimes
construct a better costume than mine and can also dance better than me
too, with either fancy, flashy colors, or dull, traditional colors. I'm
gonna show you all a picture of me in my costume below, go ahead and
check it out

Painted Bobcat's Story
Hey all you awesome people, Painted Bobcat here! By the way, that's just my tribal name, I'm a Brave in the tribe of Mic-O-Say, an honorary Indian tribe that associates with Boy Scouts. I'm in Troop 216, currently a Life Scout and I'm just going to share with you some of my experiences in the tribe.
Let's start off with me joining the tribe of Mic-O-Say, I was a third-year Star Scout when I was tapped, or you could say selected, and I was sure excited. I went through a few trials while I was a Foxman, which is a stage between a Scout and a Brave, but it was fun and it was worth it. Now I'm working on becoming a Warrior, the next rank up. To do this I have to construct a complete costume, pass a written test and learn a few dances, which by the way, costume building and dances are extremely fun! I enjoy it.
I now can wear one claw hanging from a lanyard around my neck, which means that I am a Brave in the tribe of Mic-O-Say. I have earned my first coupe which means I have been to a certain number of public dances with full costume and I'm working hard to get my second coupe. Don't worry, I'll get there, some decade. One of the things I had to do while I was a Foxman was I had to select someone to be my Blood-Brother, a Brave named Sacred Sun became my Blood-Brother, he's a nice guy, although, I haven't seen his costume yet, has he even Started?
I can't exactly explain all the details about the tribe of Mic-O-Say, mainly because I don't know all the details, and I'm not sure if I'm aloud to. Either way, if you tell anyone about this, I'll find you, to learn more about the tribe of Mic-O-Say, click here >http://www.micosay.org/ Until next time folks, Painted Bobcat out!
